Gov. Pillen Signs Bill to Protect Power Grid from Cryptocurrency Operation Use
LINCOLN, NE – Today, Governor Jim Pillen signed into law LB526, introduced on his behalf by Senator Mike Jacobson. The legislation helps to preserve electrical service to homes, businesses and other Nebraska customers, by establishing requirements for cryptocurrency mining operations. In addition to notifying power utilities in advance, the bill also provides for payment or a letter of credit covering costs associated with potential infrastructure upgrades.

LINCOLN, NE – Today, Governor Jim Pillen signed LB140, LB383, and LB172 – a slate of legislation brought on his behalf, aimed at providing protections to kids from utilization of online services and social media. Upon passage, LB383 was amended to include LB172.

Lincoln, NE – Today, Governor Jim Pillen joined with 19 other Republican governors to send a letter to President Donald Trump expressing united support for the president’s America First agenda embodied by the One, Big, Beautiful Bill currently under consideration in Congress. Burn Ban Set to Expire Tonight, No Additional Order to Be Issued by Gov. Pillen
LINCOLN, NE – A burn ban from Governor Jim Pillen will be allowed to expire at midnight, as scheduled. The order was issued on May 9 and largely covers the central and western parts of the state. During that time, permits were allowed for irrigation districts to burn off vegetation in ditches.
Gov Pillen Joins Sec Rollins as She Approves First-in-the-Nation Waiver to Restrict Soda & Energy Drinks from Food Stamps in Nebraska
FREMONT, NE – Governor Jim Pillen hosted U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins in Nebraska today as she signed the first-in-the-nation waiver to amend the statutory definition of food for purchase for Nebraska’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Effective January 1, 2026, taxpayers will no longer be subsidizing the purchase of soda or energy drinks in the State of Nebraska.
